Pte. GOODSELL H.G. 1915 50th Bn Australian Imperial Forces
Herbert Goodsell lived with his family at Ruck Hill Horsmonden where his father was gardener for the Manwaring family.
At the age of 17 Herbert joined the Royal Sussex Territorials until emigrating to Australia in January 1912. He joined the 50th Battalion Australian Imperial Forces and after training returned to England. in November 1916 he sailed to France ready for his part in the war.
Very little information was available but research led to finding Herbert’s grandson, Roger Goodsell, living in Southern Australia who has helped with rare and unique information and material.
