Homemade isotonic sports drink

You can easily make your own isotonic sports drinks for cycling. Here’s a few to try…

Sugar and glucose based version
60g glucose or sugar
1 litre water or low calorie squash
1/5th teaspoon of salt

Fruit juice and water
500ml of fruit juice
500ml of water
1/5th teaspoon salt

Fruit squash and water
200ml fruit squash
800ml water
1/5th teaspoon salt

Higher energy drink
100g glucose polymer (eg Maxim)
1 litre water
1/5th teaspoon salt
low calorie squash to taste
