University of the Third Age

Group for Horsmonden, Brenchley, Curtisden Green, Goudhurst, Kilndown, Lamberhurst and Matfield area

u3a goudhurst and district logoUniversity of the Third Age is Headquartered in Goudhurst with members from all surrounding parishes are very welcome.

The U3A hold monthly meetings beginning at 2.30pm on Wednesdays with all welcome to the talks – visitors £2.50.

As well as the talks and Interest Groups, many outings and social events are planned.

Become a member and join in one or more of the Groups now formed and to bring ideas for other topics.

So far the Interest Groups are:

  • Bridge
  • Art Appreciation

  • Psychology

Although termed a University, U3A uses the word in its original sense, meaning “a corporation of persons devoted to a particular activity, not necessarily intellectual”. Members will be retired or semi-retired and meet in informal Groups to pool their knowledge and skills for mutual benefit and enjoyment – no targets or exam pressure.

The membership year starts on 1st November with an annual membership of £25.00 – less than 50 pence per week. This will cover the cost of monthly speakers, membership of The Third Age Trust and Newsletters throughout the year.
